ABOUT GWC
If you are a small to medium sized business, an association, an
individual or just someone who wants to publish what they
represent on the web, we can help you do that.
My name is Steve Pettee, and with my wife Joan to assist me and my
son Erik as my any-time consultant, we design and construct
custom websites.
My experience began with graduation from the University of Florida
with a BSBA degree in Accounting and involvement in computer
programming/system design. Four years as the manager of the data
processing department at a 3M Business Products Center in Miami,
Florida was my start. I designed and programmed (Fortran
Program Language) systems for business applications such as payroll,
accounts receivable, general ledger, invoicing and sales reporting.
Even though this was over 50 years ago, we actually produced our
daily invoices in real time (they were printed as they were created)
on the computer keyboard with sales files updated at the same time.
For the next approximately 27 years I was a building contractor in
Dade County, Florida (8 years) and owned a tire and auto shop and
car wash in Bigfork, Montana (19 years). Much experience was gained
working with people to transform their needs and desires
into reality. Organizing and completing tasks was also part of this
process.
During the last 9-10 years I have been accumulating experience
setting up, configuring and maintaining applications in the
following areas:
Website creation with HTML and CSS
PHP and MySQL website development
Creating websites with WordPress
Windows, Linux and OpenBSD operating systems
Local Area (LAN) and Wide Area (WAN) Networks
Apache2 Web and DNS Name Servers
Firewalls with OpenBSD Packet Filter
Linksys and Cisco Routers
SSH Network protocols and Shell Scripting
DSL Connections and Web Hosting Servers
As I mentioned earlier, my son Erik is my any-time consultant.
He is a very talented web designer/developer and has over 20
years experience in this field.
We look forward to creating your unique place on the
web.
