When you contact us with your web needs and say "I am ready to get started with building a website for my business (or idea)", this is what will happen:
1. The first process is PLANNING. You and I
will
sit down and go over the particulars of your project.
Relevant questions will get me acquainted with how
your
business functions and what you consider to be
the important
aspects to present on the website.
This discussion will help us
to determine the specific website pages and page information that
will be required. We should also assemble any photos (or image
files) of your business and any design elements such as logos,
letterheads and advertising copy. Selection of the domain name is
also part of this process. We are now ready for step 2.
2. DESIGNING the project is the most fun.
Our goal is to create a design that is pleasing, easy to understand,
motivating, eye-catching and that conveys the feeling of what your
business is about. The way we use colors, images and layout is how
this is accomplished. I use Adobe Photoshop to create an image of
how the site might look. Many of the pieces of this image
are used in the third step as the files are coded.
3. The CREATION of your website is the
technical part of your project. Writing the code (programming) for
each page, inserting images and design elements into the code,
setting up a hosting service and uploading the program files to
the server are the steps we follow. HTML5 is the
program language used to insert content onto web pages. CSS3 is
used to format and present that content according to your sites
design. The program and image files are then uploaded to the hosting
server so they are available to all persons on the web.
4. MAINTENANCE of the site is next. We will
submit your site to search engines (Google and Yahoo) for indexing
the site pages into their search data bases. Your priority in
search engine listings is determined by keywords, content on
your site and the number of external links to your site.
Our goal is to optimize
your ranking with these search engines. Overseeing the hosting service
and proper backup of all data files is also something we will pay
close attention to. An account will be set up with Google Webmaster
Tools for monitoring traffic to your site. And we will look into
PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising with Google Adwords if you wish.

We will submit a fixed amount proposal to you for your project.
Any additional maintenance and updating will be charged at an
hourly rate. A website of 3-6 pages with images can run
$500-$900 as a rough estimate.
